Sorry I haven't posted in a while, there haven't been a lot of blogworthy happenings to share. Just yesterday I thought: "I think I will just post some palace pictures tomorrow, it's been too long."
As if an answer to my prayers, this Victory Base Announcement was released today.
First though, some background. Put nicely, I really don't like these announcements. They come out ALL the time, up to 20 per day, this group and that group, jazz night, hip hop night, old skool dance party, boot-scootin' country night, as well as religious services, bible study, pagan worship celebrations, etc. Most of the base (Victory Base, hence Victory Base Announcements) is moving towards incorporating web software to eliminate excess e-mail. Handy tools like document sharing, online workflows, web pages and portals, just like anywhere else trying to improve efficiency in their networked system. There is, however, no web site for these announcements- they just flood your e-mail with large attachments and apparently little review before release.
This announcement, however, made up for all the previous annoyances.

It seems the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster has made its way to Baghdad!
What are Pastafarians? Who is the Flying Spaghetti Monster (FSM)? How can you learn more?
If you have not been to their web site before and like to laugh I suggest you visit www.venganza.org.

I had to look FSM up because I'd never heard about it. Wiki says, "he Flying Spaghetti Monster (also known as the Spaghedeity) is the deity of a parody religion[1] called The Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster and its system of beliefs, "Pastafarianism".[2] The religion was founded in 2005 by Bobby Henderson to protest the decision by the Kansas State Board of Education to require the teaching of intelligent design as an alternative to biological evolution. Intelligent design implies the existence of an intelligent but not necessarily omnipotent or omniscient designer, thus some, like Henderson, argue that this designer could be anything imaginable.
In an open letter sent to the education board, Henderson parodies the concept of an intelligent designer by professing belief in a supernatural creator called the Flying Spaghetti Monster which resembles spaghetti and meatballs.[3] He furthermore calls for the "Pastafarian" theory of creation to be taught in science classrooms.[4]
Due to its recent popularity and media exposure, the Flying Spaghetti Monster is often used by atheists, agnostics (known by Pastafarians as "spagnostics"), and others as a modern version of Russell's teapot[5] and the Invisible Pink Unicorn."
Yes I'm pretty sure that merely being posted on Wikipedia brings the Spaghedeity into existence.
Thank you Jess for the sensible addition of pertinent information to the post, and thank you Wikipedia for being the leading infallible source of knowledge.
